Whether it’s your first time at the Newman Center or your 100th, welcome! My name is Maria Olivos and I am a senior studying Biology with a Pre-Med focus. I’m from St. Louis- which means I am a huge Blues fan! Here on campus, I keep myself busy between being the Catholic Student Association (CSA) President and a member of the TedxMU club. Just in case you needed yet another reminder, we are living in the middle of a pandemic which has been pretty crazy to say the least, but I am grateful to be returning to campus with all of my friends.
This new school year is going to be very different from what we are used to, but with patience and some grace it will be great! The entire CSA Executive Board along with Campus Ministry are working hard to plan safe, socially distant events in order for the community to come together to forge new friendships and grow deeper in a relationship with Christ. With college, there are so many new opportunities and choices to make, but just know that the Newman Center will always be a constant in your life. For me, it has been a place of love and growth. The Newman Center is a place where I have experienced deeper relationships from which I can expect accountability and support. Everyone is welcome here and I hope you will join all of us in our walk with Christ. We will continue praying for you, and we can’t wait to meet you!
