Homilies

Fr. Dan – The Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary: How does an immaculate heart ask questions?

Homework for the week: Think about the question or questions you’d most like to ask the Lord this week. And then try to rephrase the question by removing all selfishness from it. That alone will be a big task. But also ponder in your heart the divine in your life.

Fr. Andrew – The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

Fr. Dan – Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity: God is no abstraction

Homework for the week: Transcendence and immanence: strive to be mindful this week of the ways both transcendent and immanent that God reveals Himself all days this week.

Fr. Dan – Pentecost Sunday: Spiritual transformation through the Holy Spirit.

Homework for the week: Write down the fruit of the Spirit from St. Paul: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. And at the end of each day this week, write down if you experienced a fruit that day. I think we’ll all be surprised at how diligently the Holy Spirit is working to transform us into Christ.

Fr. Dan – Solemnity of The Ascension of the Lord: The restoration of the Holy Spirit!

Homework for the week: Double, triple, quadruple your prayer this week beseeching Christ to pour out and renew His spiritual charisms upon you and all in this Parish for the building up of the Church. The feast of the Ascension is all about interceding for the Spirit.

Fr. Dan – 6th Sunday of Easter: The history of Jesus is still present today.

Homework for the week: Our response to this today of Jesus is to abide in His love for us. The homework this week is this: hold onto the today of Jesus and to our abiding in the today of His love and joy.
